Louisiana Farm Bureau Internship Program

The Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation is currently seeking candidates for a 12 week summer internship program housed in the Commodity & Public Policy Department. This initiative will provide undergraduate students with hands-on experience in agricultural policy, organizational leadership, and grassroots advocacy.

The internship will run mid-May through mid-August and will be structured to balance meaningful project work, exposure to state and national policy processes, and professional development opportunities.

Program Goals

•       Educate students on agricultural policy, advocacy, and Farm Bureau’s grassroots organizational structure.

•       Expose students to state and national advocacy through meetings, committee work, and professional travel.

•       Train students in policy analysis and writing, communication strategies, and leadership development.

•       Inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders to consider careers in agricultural policy and advocacy, while developing their understanding and appreciation of Farm Bureau’s role as the Voice of Louisiana Agriculture.

Eligibility Criteria

•       Junior or Senior standing in an agricultural major or discipline at a Louisiana accredited university.

•       Strong interest in agricultural policy, communications, or grassroots advocacy.

•       Previous agricultural experience and involvement preferred through jobs, clubs, or farming background.

•       Willingness to travel in-state and out-of-state representing LFBF’s interests.

•       Internship recipients will not be eligible to compete in any Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Annual Meeting competitions during the year they are employed by LFBF.
